Expect the best but prepare for the worst.
There are a lot of things we can do to prepare for the storm. Here is a short list of important things to keep in mind for before, during and after the storm.

Plan ahead and don't wait for the last minute.

Gather valuables, important paperwork (especially the insurance policy) and essential medication.

Get a 4 day supply of food and water for the entire family.

Study the evacuation routes.

Fill up your gas tank and get your car ready.

Fill up additional gas containers, in case of shortage after the storm.

Locate the closet shelter to you home.Just in case, make sure they will take you in with your pets.

Put sand bags in front of doors and sliders.

Fill up your bathtub and water bottles and containers, as water might become contaminated during the storm.

Try to raise every thing of the floor, in case of flooding.

Unplug electrical equipment and appliances, in case of power surges.

Get batteries for radio, flashlights, etc.

Charge your cellphone's battery.

Get candles.

Get a first aid kit ready.

Communicate with your family and have a plan in case of an emergency.

Secure your home and board up your windows.

During the storm pick a room in the center of the home that has no windows.

DO NOT USE YOU GENERATOR INSIDE, IT WILL KILL YOU.

And most importantly use common sense. A hurricane is not a joke.

Be Safe!

MoldTestingFlorida

Blog is under construction, coming very soon!

This blog is under development, sorry for the inconvenience.

Q & A

This post is for Questions & Answers.
Ask a Certified Indoor Environmentalist.

News

Mold and indoor air quality related news and articles.

General Comments

Here you can read or post general comments, suggestions or anything on your mind related to mold or indoor air quality.
